Five Uruguayan Tannat wines were distinguished in Quebec
Once again, the Tannat Viejo from H Stagnari received the highest honor in a highly recognized international competition. Other wines also received awards: the AMAT from Carrau a gold medal, and wines from Bertolini & Broglio, Filgueira and Pisano won silver medals.

The 17th edition of Selections Mondiales Des Vins Canada took place from June 1 to 6, 2010 in Québec. It is one of the oldest and most important wine competitions in the world. It was created in Canada in 1983 and is organized by the Société des Alcools du Québec (SAQ) since its first edition.

The contest follows the standards of accuracy and objectivity according to the rules for international competitions of wine and spirits, OIV, VINOFED and UIOE.

This year, 1786 wines from 31 countries from all the continents entered the competition, which was evaluated by an international jury whose members are recognized for their professional skills, their integrity and independence, among which the Uruguayan Agronomist and Oenologist Estela de Frutos was selected.
